WASTE OF SPACE ORCHESTRA (Finland)
Wake Up The Possessor
— Listen up: members of *Oranssi Pazuzu* dude, AND Dark Buddha Rising. It reminded me of Enemy of the Sun on peyote with a female lead singer. Need. I. Say. Fucking. More.
CEREMONY OF SILENCE (Slovakia)
Arising Of No Man
— Really, we have psychedelic death metal now? Expand the brain and then pummel it into pieces, living the Slovakian dream. From a duo no less.
— Yeah, this is the death metal that I grew up on living in my Indian household. Distinct twists within crusty riffy anarchistic tempo changes. The perfect album.
HELL FIRE (Bay area)
— The bay area let their collective mullet hair loose. Epic heavy metal and a lead singer that hit that high note so well my balls stood on edge.
— Wild guttural gurgling vocals with horror effects in a chomping black metal.
Spirit Into Cristal
— Industrial textured-Polish black metal, with the beat of darkwave vocals and industrial notes and beats, stomping back to black metal when suited.
Throne of Blackened Domains
— Yes, more Swedish black metal, this time from Grafvitnir, the vocalist a standout, a screech stain painted over blasting drum rolling over a starry medieval Swedish sky.
— Germany is fully accelerating into incredible melodic black metal, their sound interspersed with chanting and poetry. That's what I always say, those Germans are big ole softies.
TRIUMVIR FOUL (Portland)
Urine of Abomination IV
— Shiny demon penis splattering bile-colored urine on the album cover. YES, this is fucking metal from a duo that chases their dense sound with roars and groans and simpers and blows away in ash.
