Usømmelig omgang med lig
— Denmark is apparently filthy and ugly, to spew out this slithering beast of a cavernous, deranged death with crazed guitar solos and a sick doom twist.
CYNABARE URNE (Finland)
Last of the Icons Alive
— Sinister occult and death also blending black and an incredibly filthy groove. Power.
WYTCH HAZEL (UK)
I Will Not
— Holy shit, an amazing organ-loving, anthemic and epic 70’s style retro with a vocalist that hangs from the rafters. This album is better than the last, and the last won Best Retro in 2018.
Castrate The Perpetrators
— Technical death metal with incredibly emotional and dynamic vocals in the style of Cattle Decapitation. Surprising melodic infects, and the result is a blast.
— A heavy dose of spectrum-sliding vocals slicing my heart. Post-metal interrupted by a proggy death also creates a really spectacular sound. Surprisingly effective.
— French post-black drama and turbulent ferocious black metal with a roughly textured vocalist that breaks into spoken French. Ooo-la-la, don my beret mofos.
— Beautiful and soulful with incredibly passionate singing, and metal guitars that break from post-metal into stoner sludge and bouts of black.
THE DEVIANT (Norway)
It Has a Name
— Ex-lead singer of Gehenna within a frosted wintry scowling Norwegian forest black metal.
Catacombs Part II
— A massive collective including violin, trumpet and saxophone to melt that metal heart.
Mystique de la Vouivre
— Medieval folk and epic melodic black metal, it’s badass.
